“If you have a compelling and thrilling web idea, Silicon Valley will pay attention to Europeans, too!”

We met Sarik Weber, well known from his former job for  business networking platform Xing, at the Parisian internet conference LeWeb 2010. At the press lounge of LeWeb, surrounded by US alpha video blogger Robert Scoble aka Scobleizer and “electrical reporter” Mario Sixtus, we started an insightful and substantial interview about a wide variety of subjects: His new Hamburg based startup incubator Hanse Ventures, (the culture of) web startups in european and international comparison and perspective, reflexions on stupid vs smart ‘copycats’, european success stories and its american perception as well as innovative business models generating more revenues.

Despite certain disadvantages Sarik is convinced: “If you have a compelling and thrilling web idea, Silicon Valley will pay attention and deliver media coverage to Europeans, too!”

Furthermore he gives many reasons why we are not going into the next internet bubble economy as in the year 2000, how to support green startup founders and investors and why it is a great time right now to found web startups.

Check it out.
